The laboratory is located within the Department of Medical Biotecnology of the University of Siena. The research activity carried out in the laboratory is mainly microbiological research applied to the prevention and control of infectious diseases.

The laboratory has specialized professionals highly experienced in the field, able to guarantee efficiency in a short time and meet the needs of our customers.

The laboratory is able to offer its customers a complete service that is not only limited to the delivery of a result, but also a constant support and advice to ensure the best solution to any problem.

Consultancy activities for third parties (public and privates bodies) carried out in the laboratory include:

• Assessment of antimicrobial activity of synthetic or natural substances

• Toxicity testing of cell products

• Research and identification of microbial genetic material by molecular analysis

• Effectiveness studies of disinfectants.
